: I have one which I purchased at a garage sale 10 years ago for $5. I had to buy a replacement cord at an appliance repair place recently ($13.95!) Corning recalled these pots over 20 years ago and discontinued them because of safety concerns with the cord. Try thrift shops too.
ANNE YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE RECALL BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO POINT OUT THAT THEY WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF FAULTY HANDLES WHICH CAME LOOSE FROM THE CONTAINER AND PRESENTED A SCALDING HAZARD WHEN POURING THEIR HOT CONTENTS. CORNING RECALLED THEIR NON ELECTRIC POTS AT THE SAME TIME AND BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEM. SO KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN USING YOUR CORNING POT.
